Introduction
McGregor’s piece on the Mexican Revolution sheds light onto the United States’ outside views of the event and also the inside reasoning and explanation for the occurrence of the revolution. In this piece McGregor hope to explain the leaders and backbone of the revolution while explaining its significance and reasoning for having such devoted followers and supporters. This piece offers an authentic description of an American’s perspective and knowledge of the Mexican Revolution.
McGregor’s argument is that what may seem like “bandits” carrying out warfare to the people of the U.S. it was groups of poverty-stricken Mexican citizens who gained large followings and support and organized a movement to rebel. Yet the U.S. may commonly see the movement as just an unorganized group because of underlying and preconceived opinions and views of Mexico and the people of Mexico.
